Diabetes and Retinopathy Awareness Campaign at Manop Retirement Home

At Manop Retirement Home, DiaBeatIt organised a health awareness campaign to shed light on the silent risks of diabetes and its impact on eye health. Through engaging workshops and open conversations, residents learned about diabetic retinopathy, its gradual progression, and the ways it can be prevented with timely eye screenings and lifestyle care. The sessions highlighted the importance of maintaining healthy blood sugar levels, eating balanced meals, and staying physically active.

The enthusiasm of the residents was inspiring—they asked thoughtful questions, shared personal experiences, and showed a genuine desire to protect their vision and overall health. By the end of the campaign, the warmth in their smiles and the gratitude in their words reflected not only a deeper awareness but also a renewed determination to take charge of their well-being.

This initiative reaffirmed DiaBeatIt’s mission to fight diabetes through early detection, awareness, and prevention—paving the way for a future where avoidable blindness is replaced with lasting vision and hope.

Awareness Campaign at Tapasya Retirement Home

As part of its commitment to early detection and prevention of diabetes-related complications, DiaBeatIt conducted its second awareness campaign at a local old age home. The session aimed to educate elderly residents about diabetes management, the risks of diabetic retinopathy, and the importance of routine screenings for long-term eye health.

The campaign combined structured health education with interactive discussions, enabling residents to ask questions about diet, lifestyle changes, and access to eye checkups. Many participants demonstrated increased awareness of the silent progression of diabetic retinopathy and expressed a willingness to adopt preventive measures such as regular blood sugar monitoring and eye examinations.

Beyond knowledge transfer, the initiative fostered trust and engagement within the community. Residents responded positively to the session, reporting that the information was both relevant and actionable. The campaign highlighted the effectiveness of combining medical guidance with community-based outreach in promoting healthier habits and ensuring timely intervention.

This activity not only strengthened DiaBeatIt’s role in community health promotion but also reinforced its broader mission of preventing avoidable blindness and improving quality of life for at-risk populations.
